We have received word that members of Westboro Baptist Church will be present in Tallahassee tomorrow to spread their hate-filled messages at the funeral of fallen soldier Pfc. Brandon King.  Westboro Baptist Church is known for picketing at public events and funerals, often those related or peripherally related to gay people or soldiers in the military.

Tallahassee's LGBT community has worked hard and made many accomplishments this year that strengthen human rights and improve the lives of LGBT people.  We must not allow the goons at Westboro to tarnish our spirits.  They thrive on attention and want us to feel defeated.  They will not succeed.  The Family Tree does not support counter-protesting at Pfc. King's funeral.  We will, instead, celebrate our victories with our Family Barbecue as planned with a special moment of silence dedicated to the sacrifices of Pfc. King and Pfc. Anthony Simmons.

Join The Family Tree, Equality Florida
and Tallahassee's LGBT Business Partners for a fun & casual Family Barbecue!
